A European FP6 project. The Akogrimo project concentrates on delivering Mobile Grid architectures and services for dynamic virtual organisations. The project started on Jult 1, 2004 and the duration is 36 months.

It will include three testbeds:

• eLearning

• eHealth

• crisis management

with Generalisation to other applications.

The project has a layered approach for the next generation Grid:

• Domain and Application Specific Services

• Generic Application Services Layer

• Grid Infrastructure Layer

• Network Middleware

• Mobile Internet

The technology vision is to create a next generation Grid based on next generation IPv6

networks and supporting security on all layers, QoS, accounting/billing, and user/context

awareness. It will use mobile communication beyond 3G and provide support for Dynamic

Virtual Organisations.
