Since several years, HPC is one of the main focuses of E4 Computer Engineering and the Italian firm has decided to provide its customers with the opportunity of testing in remote the computational power of E4 HPC cluster based on NVIDIA Tesla architecture and consisting of two Twin servers 1U E5118 (4 nodes) and two servers Tesla S1070. Thanks to the hybrid hardware configuration (CPU + GPU), the cluster is capable of guaranteeing a theoretical performance level of 8 teraflops, up to 150 times higher than standard systems, as well as a considerably reduced power consumption. For E4 this scalable solution represents a very important step to promote hardware architectures for HPC applications which include hybrid computing technologies.
