The workshop is open to all researchers throughout the University of California system. Attendees can register on-line until September 30th. Dr. Roope Astala, of Interactive Supercomputing Inc., will be leading the workshop.
"This is a unique opportunity for University of California researchers to get an in-depth presentation of the advanced Star-P system and become familiar with these new tools and techniques to enable high-performance computing research across a wide variety of scientific disciplines", stated Dr. Astala.
As a software platform to link between MATLAB tools and high-performance parallel computing resources, Interactive Supercomputing's Star-P open software platform allows scientists, engineers and analysts to transparently use HPC resources using familiar desktop tools. Star-P software is a client-server parallel-computing platform designed to work with multiple Very High Level Language (VHLL) client applications such as MATLAB or Python, and has built-in tools to expand VHLL computing capability through addition of libraries and hardware-based accelerators. At SDSC, the software is installed on the supercomputer centre's OnDemand system, and offered to all University of California researchers.
More information is available at SDSC's Training Events Calendar.
