For many enterprises, the move from extremely costly special processor-based systems to cluster systems opens up a huge spectrum of possibilities. Presentations in the Cluster session will discuss cluster computing in the context of challenges in high performance computing, software and algorithms, as well as architecture and performance characteristics of compute clusters. Further topics include efficiency as well as optimization efforts relating to virtualization, security, energy consumption and data management.

Today clusters are the dominant and most widely used architecture in computing centres. In various forms they are the primary platform of choice both in the technical computing arena and commercial enterprise processing. So, the "Efficient Operation of Clusters in Computing Centers" is an extremely important topic nowadays.

Executives and managers from computing centres and all fields of application should not miss the eleven high-potential talks by mostly world-renowned experts from academia and industry covering all important aspects.

On-line registration for the ISC'08 Conference can be done at http://www.supercomp.de/isc08/content/e48/index_eng.html
