Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers was able to generate a record growth in x86 unit shipments by focusing on customer requirements and needs, delivering better overall value to its customers as well as the channel. The company grew clearly faster than the competition, as demonstrated by an extraordinary year-on-year growth of 19.8 percent. With this, Fujitsu/Fujitsu Siemens Computers achieved the highest year-on-year growth rate among the top five x86 server vendors.

"Instead of slashing prices, we have been steadily reducing energy consumption, providing customers with longer-term benefits rather than just one-time initial savings on a reduced purchase price", commented Jens-Peter Seick, Senior Vice President Enterprise Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

At this year's CeBIT - the biggest trade show for the ICT sector worldwide - in Hanover, Germany, Fujitsu Siemens Computers was showcasing its all-new line-up of PRIMERGY servers: state-of-the-art quad-core, dual-socket models that deliver extended performance, enlarging the path towards consolidation and operating large applications in fully-virtualized environments (PRIMERGY TX200 S4, TX300 S4, RX200 S4 and RX300 S4 models), and quad-core single socket machines powerful enough so that a single unit can meet the basic server needs for many small and medium-size companies (PRIMERGY TX150 S6 and RX100 S5).

These new models strengthen the PRIMERGY line of industry-standard servers, which includes rack, blade and tower systems, plus BladeFrame, the dynamic enterprise server solution that creates a pool of virtualizable server nodes. The PRIMERGY server range starts with the TX120, the world's most energy-efficient, quietest and smallest server, providing small- and medium-size customers with a cost-effective package that features low energy consumption, a compact design, low noise levels and lower-than-standard levels of heat output.
