PRIMERGY retakes the top score for mono-processor servers
Munich 29 February 2008 The new PRIMERGY TX150 S6 tower server has set a new industry performance record for mono-processor servers in the widely-recognized SPECjbb2005 benchmark tests. The TX150 S6, ideal for use as a departmental server and for virtualization, ships with the new Quad-Core Intel Xeon X3360 processor from March 2008.

Independent testing body SPEC, the Standard Performance Evaluation Corporation, accepted the best-in-class result for Fujitsu Siemens Computers following lab tests for the PRIMERGY TX150 S6 with 8 GB of memory, one 160 GB SATA disk drive, running two instances of the BEA JRockit 6.0 P27.4.0 (64-bit) Java Virtual Machine on Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise x64 Edition SP1. With a result of 172,722 business operations per second (SPECjbb2005 bops) and 86,361 SPECjbb2005 bops/JVM, the PRIMERGY server from Fujitsu Siemens Computers retakes the top score from Dell.

Other tests show that the TX150 S6 also leads in the SPECpower_ssj2008 benchmark with a result of 667 overall ssj_ops/watt in the category for mono-socket servers.

"These top results provide independent validation that PRIMERGY is an ideal all-round platform for various workloads, even virtualization", commented Bernhard Brandwitte, Director of Marketing, Enterprise Server Business at Fujitsu Siemens Computers. "These certifications show that PRIMERGY servers from Fujitsu Siemens Computers are the performance leader for mono-socket quad-core industry standard servers."

The competitive benchmark results stated above reflect results published on www.spec.org as of February 13th, 2008. The comparisons presented above are based on the best performing systems with 1 chip.
