In addition to significant performance improvements, DMExpress 4 also provides tools that allow developers to more easily maintain and transition data management projects. With impact analysis/data lineage, developers can track the flow of data across an entire project. The analysis identifies where the data came from and where it is going, and determines which rules were applied to the data along the way. The feature empowers development
teams, both initial and subsequent, to smoothly manage the entire lifecycle of a data management project.
DMExpress 4 also enables the sharing and exchange of data across different systems with enhanced support for UNICODE, as well as metadata interchange using XML targets. Users can also invoke user-written functions, which provide operational flexibility and the power to perform an even broader range of transformations.
As with previous releases that have consistently overcome the competition in speed, DMExpress 4 replaces long-running processes so applications run faster. Particularly with data-intensive applications, DMExpress has been proven to save many hours, sometimes even days of processing time. In tests at customer sites, DMExpress 4 was shown to run up to twice as fast as competitors, including Informatica. The solution runs on UNIX, Windows, and Linux, and integrates disparate data from multiple, heterogeneous sources. It transforms and aggregates the data at
high speed to create consolidated views for reporting, analysis, or other downstream applications.
"Syncsort has always focused on solving customers' performance issues through technological innovation. When it comes to speed, this newest release of DMExpress surpasses not only previous releases, but competitors as well", state Dan Regan, Syncsort's Senior Vice President. "The tools and enhancements offered in DMExpress 4 translate into even faster applications and better management of data integration projects."
